Beth is 2025 Club Champion!
11 December 2025
Our annual club championships were held at Marriott’s Gym, with five individual competitions being strongly contested and a range of individual trophies to be awarded. Results detailed below.
Bronze 13+ competition – 1st: Beth Stanyer, 2nd: Julia Ruszelak.
Copper 12+ competition – 1st: Sophie Turner, 2nd: Maisie Clay, 3rd: Lucie Day, 4th: Daisy Mehmet, 5th: Zahraa Khaled, 6th: Kacie Coats.
Zinc Plus 11+ competition – 1st: Gracie-Ella Lamey, 2nd: Maisie Sinclair & Elza Bujupi, 4th: Beau Irish-Barker
Junior 11+ competition – 1st: Donya Ahmadi, 2nd: Bethany Wright, 3rd: Esta Andriuskeviciute, 4th: Fearne Popely
Development Squad competition – 1st: Aurora Farath-Grolla, 2nd: Nia Brown, 3rd: Tierney McLaughin, 4th: Mikaela Kolev, 5th: Bonnie-Jo Watts, 6th: Lilly Holland, 7th: Jorgie Watts.

Well done to all the gymnasts who competed and gave the spectators such a great competition to watch!
The competition also marked the end of Briony and Zahraa’s gymnastics journeys, and we’re so proud of everything they’ve achieved. They’ll be missed in the gym by the whole club.
Herts Inter County Team selection for Sophie & Beth
23 November 2025
Massive well done to Sophie (Copper) and Beth (Bronze), who both delivered brilliant routines in the Inter County Team competitions in Ipswich. Their performances made a real impact and contributed strongly to their teams’ overall scores.
The Hertfordshire Copper team finished in a fantastic 4th place, while the Bronze team secured an impressive 3rd place in two highly competitive events.
We are so proud of you both - Well done girls, you did the club and yourselves proud!
Herts Inter County Team selection for Sophie & Beth

We’re delighted to announce that Sophie & Beth have been selected for the Copper & Bronze Hertfordshire Inter County Teams for 2025 .
The girls will compete at the Inter County teams competition on Sunday 23 November in Ipswich.
Well done girls, we’re really proud of you!
Hertfordshire Copper Team Champions!

Turnford Gymnastics Club enjoyed a fantastic weekend at the Hertfordshire Team Championships, with gymnasts competing across multiple levels and delivering great performances and brilliant team spirit.
Huge congratulations to Sophie, Lucie, Maisie and Kacie, who showed confident routines to earn the title of Hertfordshire County Copper Team Champions. An amazing achievement and one the girls should feel extremely proud of.
At Zinc, Gracie‑Ella, Beau, Elsie and Elza performed beautifully, showing great teamwork and finishing in a strong 4th place.
Competing as guests in the Bronze category, Beth and Julia delivered confident routines that earned them excellent scores from the judges.
And in the Steel category, Donya, Aurora and Nia showcased some lovely routines and gained valuable experience for future competitions.
Every gymnast represented Turnford with pride, determination and true club spirit.
Well done girls, we’re incredibly proud of you all.

A huge well done to our gymnasts who competed at the Herts Copper & Bronze County Championships. Our girls delivered confident, competitive routines, with several notable results across the apparatus:

A special mention goes to Beth Stanyer, who was awarded the John Braham Trophy for achieving the highest Bronze Vault score of the competition.

Huge congratulations to our gymnasts who competed at the Herts Zinc County Championships. They performed well across their routines and represented the club with confidence. A notable result came from Elza Buljapi in the Zinc 11+ age group, where she placed 3rd on floor

Linda named in King's Birthday Honours List!

We are absolutely thrilled to announce that Linda, has been recognised in this year’s King’s Birthday Honours!
Linda has been awarded a BEM (British Empire Medal) for her decades of service to gymnastics and the community in East Hertfordshire.
Linda founded Turnford Gymnastics Club in 1973 and is still coaching today. She’s inspired so many gymnasts & coaches over the years & we’re bursting with pride over this well deserved award.
